Hey guys I am planning to build a mini-itx pc.

I am aiming for pin drop silence operation on normal usage.

Since we actually have a side to pick now for cpu's (AMD vs. Intel) I needed your opinion on it because AMD mini-itx motherboards don't exist currently and none to be coming up on the horizon despite it being a while since Ryzen release.

My options are either to wait for a mini-itx AM4 Mobo of which we have no clue when Asus will release theirs as Asus is my pick for mobo manufacturers or go for a intel build and grab the Asus Z270 mini-itx.

As for the CPU it's between the Intel 7700k or the Ryzen 1700X for my needs.

This PC is not really going to be used for gaming, maybe just on occasion and that too will mostly be MMORPG's & FPS's like WOW/LOL/BF1. So, I don't really plan to put in a beefy gpu.

Main purpose of this build is multi tasking with pin drop silence operation hence I was leaning towards the Ryzen CPU for my CPU price range but like I said the AM4 mini-itx mobo's don't exist espicially from Asus and no news on any coming up.

Would love your input/opinion.

Thanks!

Just took a look at the case, I would go with amd as it has a lower TDP and does not need that much cooling. I know that Bitwit did a build in it recently if that helps you out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWrbaL7xrnE. He had some criticisms for it, but it does look nice for the size.

Sadly no mini-itx mobo for AMD Ryzen CPU's yet.
