So, recently I've gotten into retro gaming. It feels like something I can finally enjoy compared to all the things of today. I recently acquired 7 PCs just so I could mess around with them and I got the bright idea to put one together and put XP on it. I installed the copy of XP only to find I don't know how to set up the internet. I'm going through a hard time right now because I don't know how to get this Ethernet cable detected by the PC. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information then that I'd gladly provide it.

I have a problem with people. The only things I like are 787Bs and PCs.

You need the find the model of the motherboard if its a custom PC, or the model of the system if its a prebuilt and go to the driver page. From there, just download the LAN driver and it should start working. If its an Intel NIC you may be able to use Intels driver update tool to find it but I'm not sure.

To continue with that jakkuh_t stated. That is going to apply to all of your drivers on windows xp. It will not automatically install all of your drivers like w10 or 8 does.

Also, FWIW, XP is also not supported at all anymore and very unsecure.
