Hello Linusfolks :)

I am actually learning Coding and prepare for a Apprenticeship, starting in August, to make a degree in IT Specialist for App Development (my try to translate this into english!)

I would like to get a Laptop for the ability to also do some Coding outside, meet up other ppl etc.

For now i mainly practice with C, C#, HTML/CSS/Javascript, and a lot of it on Online Sources like Codecademy or the on the EDX Harvard CS Course with the Cloud 9 Online IDE.

My Budget is quite small and i could get a Odys Trendbook for around 150€ right now.

It has a 1920x1080 IPS Display

Intel Atom x5-Z8350

32 Gb HDD

2 Gb Ram

The 4 Gb Version would Cost me around 80€ more, so i don´t really consider it an Option.

I think the 32Gb HDD would not be an issue, since i would only need a Browser, CodeBlocks and Visual Studio Code on it.

For Larger Stuff i still have my Powerful Desktop PC at home.

Would the 2Gb become an issue?

Any opinions and suggestions are appreciated.

The 2GB would become an issue very quickly.
some programming software can use that on it's own and then will not run the application on its own.

Just advising as you may decide that you want to code on the go.

I'd also be cautious re the 32gb HDD.
Windows on its initial install is about 20gb, you install updates and suddenly you have no space.
Windows 10 is the worst for this.

for just a basic browser, I'd recommend installing some Linux distro if you were going to be using this just for internet.

Regards,

Leon.

I checked some more offers, and i might get a Refurbished Thinkpad T410 for 150€ instead!
It doesn´t have a Full HD Screen, but a I-5 @2.6Ghz and 4 Gb Ram.

Guess that is very decent at this low price Point!

It also comes with Windows 7 installed.
