Free Resolution Overlay Software

Hey everybody!

I was wondering, are there any free programs that create an overlay of a desired resolution?

I do a lot of programing work creating control systems, but I do most of my work either on my work-provided laptop which has a resolution of 1600x900 or on my rig at home which has a res of 1440p, but my programs always end up on computers with sh*tty resolutions (1280x768 and below). My problem is that I need to fit the control panel of my programs to those crappy screens, but those PCs are not always available while I'm building the programs...

 

So just to clarify myself, are there any applications that will just overlay a frame of a desired resolution, let's say 1280x768, on my 1440p monitor so that I could see if all the controls will fit on the computer that they'll end up on???

Umm try LightShot.

 

Its a screenshot software that has a resolution overlay when you try to take a picture.

That might work as a last resort, but I was hoping for somthing that is just always on (until I turn it off of course) and ontop of all other windows while I'm working...
