Back lit RGB laptop ports

I was tring to plug the charger in to my Razer blade stealth last night, and thought if we have back lit keyboards for use in the dark why not ports? What do you guys think

RGB is overly used to the point of it being obnoxious, and led lighting for ports is just another useless drain on battery.

you could obviously turn it off when you don use it

still, its a waste of power for no real benifit. even backlit keyboards on laptops arent totally neccessary, as i rarely ever work in a dark enough environment to need one, and i have never worked anywhere dark enough to need port lighting.

It's not exactly easy to implement, and they don't fulfil a meaningful role. It's a niche idea with a niche use within an already niche market

it's a bit much, ive seen backlit USB-CON and Ether-CON ports on server racks before but thats a server rack, which is usually in a dimly lit tech room.

I can totally see it on plugged in hardware like servers, but i think it would be a waste of battery power on a laptop.

There are motherboard that have led backlite ports, not RGB but not impossible to do so.
