The Revenant movie

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1663202/

I watched it originally in the theaters when it came out, then again on cable a few days ago. I actually liked the movie alot. I am not native myself, but I have a lot of respect for native peoples because they were lied to and stolen from as soon as outsiders came in, and even more so when governments were involved.

The movie to me was about the lead character getting ripped to shreds by a bear, being helped back to health by the crew, the crew leaving and putting in charge a young man and an old timer to help him back. The young kid not up to snuff, green behind the ears, and the old fart wanting his money to retire and not do the work to help the hurting man back. He tries to kill him, the Pawnee child intervenes and is stabbed and dies, all while the young guy is out getting water. Its about revenge obviously, revenge for killing his Pawnee child and the lead characters struggle from near death, in a pit with loose dirt on top of him and alone, he struggled to get back to the outpost. Great story proceeds to the action part of the revenge where the lead gets back to base camp, old fart fucks off with camps money. Lead goes out into the wilds and is alone yet again. Great conflict scene, which leads us to the ending. Old fart is dead and his scalp skinned again, by a tribe which just so happens to stumble upon them. They leave the lead alone because he saved a women that was being raped by a French crew apart of the base camp.

Lead character climbs a steep hill, making his way back. Is nearly dead, just like before. How bad, not sure. He see's his dead Pawnee wife in an illusion. The leads eyeballs are seeing this, then stares directly into the camera. Fade out, credits.

The ending to me means, What would you do? Would you go through all the trouble for revenge, just to maybe die for it. Obviously to me I think he dies, but maybe not. See we dont know how badly off he is, is he worse off then the 1st time.

To me also, its about respecting the native peoples, which many discard which is the history.
