all the crop canons have basically the same image quality, you don't get a big jump until you go full frame.

Its mainly litte things you get, like better autofocus(not during video), water restance, battery life.

Why cannon? for just video id look at mirror less from sony and panasonci.

canon dslr's aren't great for video really. They look fine, but are made for photo first.

If your just using video why dslr? Have you considered a camcorder like a xa30 or a gf10(or the new version if there is one) or a camcorder like a DMC-G7KS.

For photo + video, id probably just get a cheaper rebel t6i unless there is a big feature you need, they look basically the same.

do you think i should use 10-18 for video or just a kit lens?

10-18 is a nice lens, but way to wide for most video(i have one)

What type of video?

If the kit lens if only a hundred bucks might as well get it, there fine for what they are(id stay away from then in video if you need af during video the old ones were very loud focusing, idk about the new ones)

Id probably get a 35mm f2, nice video lens for the pice, or the 40m 2.8 if you want it cheaper.

id get the kit lens and try using that, should work fine. the 10-18 is way to wide for most use(you can do a full body selfie when arm holding it wide)
