Intel x299

Anyone else is looking forward for the x299 motherboards and CPU?

since Intel Skipped the 1xx and didnt he and X series chipset since X99.

So the way the HEDT/Workstation/Server architecture is done is that there is one architecture release every two architectures.

For example, X79 survived for 3rd and 4th gen and Xeon v1 and v2, X99 survived for 5th and 6th gen and Xeon v3 and v4. 

X299 will be for 7th and 8th gen and Xeon v5 and v6

yeah the did mention it will include the next "Coffee Lake" I7-8xxx Series. and wtf COFFEE Lake? are they running out of Lakes and Bridges?

No, the high end architecture is one architecture behind. 6xxx on X99 is Broadwell-E, so 7xxx will be Skylake-E, and 8xxx will be Kaby Lake-E

They look as if they are both the 7xxx

i was surprised too. to see 2 different architectures for the high end 7xxx

Lol not enough lakes bridges and wells. The one after coffee Lake should be Loch Ness
