Streaming to PS3 over wireless

Hey there,

I am attempting to stream video files from my pc to my ps3 using ps3 media server. It's set up fine but I am having considerable trouble in getting it to run smoothly. I have my pc wired to my router and then streaming to my ps3 over wireless. Even when trying to play low bit rate content, about 1- 2 Mbps it doesn;t play smoothly, let alone 720p and higher content.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to improve the streaming? I am using a Netcomm NB6+4W ADSL2+ Modem Router.

try this.

ramdom google awnser-

then open 'sharing'.
select the 'firewall' tab.
select 'new'.
then for 'port name' select 'other'.
for the 'tcp' and 'udp' ports enter '5001'.
and for 'description' enter 'PS3' or whatever you want.

as a side note, if you're going to 'force the ip of the server' under the PS3 media server 'general configuration' settings, make sure you enter the ip address of your pc not the ps3.

hope that helps.
