Massive difference in gaming laptop performance.

Ok so I'm going to offer my specific scenario but it's part of a broader scenario.  I have an Asus GL502VS with an I7 6700hq  and gtx 1070. I have been watching video of people playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands with the same specs getting far better fps than me. I've also seen comments saying that people with my same laptop as me have been getting similar fps to what I have and wondering what's up. My question is why would different manufacturers computers, with the same components, and same drivers, have such a huge discrepancy in performance?

 

P.S. I have confirmed that I am not thermal throttling so it's not that.

I would check Nvidia control panel to see if your games are even using the GTX 1070 to begin with, maybe it defaults to Intel HD Graphics.

oh yeah, I have it plugged it and my laptop is gsync so there is no available intel integrated gpu. I'm kinda splitting hairs here where I get a Wildlands benchmark in 1080p and Ultra preset of 41fps, I've seen youtubers running benchmarks on the same hardware of 50+. I'm on the latest drivers, high performance power options and everything. My question is it seems like the game doesn't like my model of laptop, cause my firestrike score is a combined score of over 13000, so I feel like it should do at least as well as everyone else.
