Help! Bottlenecking... CPU or GPU.

So I'm trying to find out what I should upgrade. but i'm not sure what would improve the performance.

I think its the CPU that bottlenecking the GPU But that's only a my guess. I don't fully understand bottlenecking yet. My plan was to get these.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

MB: MSI B150 PC Mate ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

RAM: G.Skill Aegis 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

 

Do you think that could work and if not that what would be better.

CPU bottleneck. Get a Ryzen 5 when it comes out. Intel's value is terrible.

most provably is a cpu bottleneck. wait for ryzen 5 and buy a new cpu motherboard and memory

Yes, the i5 6500 will provide a leap and bounds better experience over the older FX 6300 chip. And yes, the CPU is your bottleneck.
