This is my first build and I have bought most of the parts for my build. I would like to run the Asus Maximus VI formula and I was wondering what ram is compatible with this mobo? I have looked at most of the major manufacturers like Corsair, Kingston, G.Skill... and most of their ram moduals say they are only compatible with 2nd and 3third gen. intel core cpus. I would like to have 32gb @ 2133. I am a content pro (rendering, 3d modeling, programming and some gamming) and will be overclocking. Any advice would be great...

Nonono, They mean that they are optimized for those generation, not compatible. If you like, Vengeance Pros are made for Ivy and Haswell but really don't have any benefits. And DDR3 will work fine.

lol like I said this is my first build. so a ddr3 mobo will handle any ddr3 ram as long as its not ECC, right?

Yes. What often confuses people is when it's called "quad channel" or "dual channel". If you want 32GB you're going to need 4 x 8GB DIMMs, but it doesn't really matter whether you buy 2 x dual channel kits or a single quad channel kit so long as they match.
