Which phone should I get?

There's too many Chinese copy cats like Huawei and Xiaomi to accurately find a phone that fits me.

 

My budget is around $500 and I don't really need a powerful CPU. Highly prefer a well built phone.

 

I'm coming from a OP2 so a fast fingerprint sensor is preferable.

 

I've been looking at the LG V20 but again, I'm sure there's a better chinese phone.

Just don't update or jailbreak it. Jailbreaking usually helps speed the phone up if you get some apps to do so. I have done it on all my old iPhones and they are great pocket computers now

Wasn't the motherboard on one designed to specifically slow down after while? That's not something you can replace with third party components.

I don't think they have done something that extreme. But they usually only optimize stuff for the latest 2-3 generations. Which leads to slow downs and bugs in the older ones forcing people to upgrade

Eh regardlessly, I like my phone's heavy and only the iphone 6 is appealing to me.

I switched from an iPhone 5s to an LG V10 a while back and while it took me some time to get used to the size of the phone, I never plan on going back to an iPhone.  The apple tax is absurd, and the battery life/overall usability of the phone diminished with every iOS update.

 

The only complaint I have with the V10 is that the battery life is horrible.  That being said, I'm still waiting on an Android 7.0 update to come through, which supposedly helps with some of that.  Fingerprint sensor is extremely quick and accurate, and the second screen is super convenient for notifications and quick access to contacts/recently used apps.  I can only imagine the V20 is an even better experience.

The reason I'm hesitant with LG is because I'm not getting the most bang for my buck. I mean I really love the DAC in the V20 but I don't have any headphones that need a DAC. Meanwhile I could get a chinesium phone for a similar price with much better features and components. It's just so hard to sort through the millions of different ones that there are.
