Mb: Asus z170 e

Gpu: Asus 1060 dual

Ram: avexir 8gb ddr4 2400

Cpu: i7 6700k

After trying to get this set up and running again after a sudden BSOD, turning it on only lead to my eyes seeing the red light of the damned, the Vga Led was solid. So first things first, power off/ unplug, remove gpu and then power the mobo back on to see if it post. Nope, the VGA led was still on. Plugged the speaker, popped the ram out and powered it to hear if the speaker worked and got the old 1 long 2 short, but when i powered it on with the ram i got no beeps or boops.

Need help knowing if the ram is dead before i go about buying.

It did more then before. (doing nothing/no error beeps) Unplug everything, including your drives/audio/mouse/keyboard. Put in 1 stick of ram in different slots, and use the onboard video. (don't forget to reset your BIOS, since you might have disabled the onboard video) If it doesn't post, you might want to try/borrow new ram.

Can also still be a bad motherboard, so don't bash me if it wasn't the ram. That's why I say: try and borrow some ram.

Don't think it's a PSU issue, since it changes them beeps when you have ram/no ram. In any case, good luck!

The motherboard is new and the ram i bought used from a dude online, so if anything i should bash myself for being cheap.

I have bought an entire used pc (and replaced some parts which came from my old PC), and I have no major issues with it. I also bought another 8 gb of ram, also no issues. So you don't have to bash your head against the wall. Agreed, it can be iffy. But if the price is right, it's worth a gamble.
