7700k oc advice

So it seems like any voltage past 1.3 will send me upwards of 90 celsius within 15 minutes. I've gotten 4.8 ghz at 1.3 and kept it under 90 for 15 minutes. should I keep pushing past 4.8 at 1.3 until it fails? is the goal to get max frequency at lowest voltage to keep temps below 85-90 during stress tests?

I'm using rog bench and cpu-z/hwmonitor. i7-7700k, kraken x52.

You could try increasing the frequency but I think your CPU will just thermal throttle and you won't actually achieve any better results.

 

I would reduce the voltage a bit first, and see if your system is still stable.

 

And what are your other temps? Seems like your CPU is running quite hot with that cooler.

Hmm by other temps do you mean like GPU and mobo? I don't have GPU yet just trying to set everything up for when 1080 ti comes in.  CPU is around 30 at idle, and makes quick jumps to 50 and immediately back down if I open an app. Seems almost impossible to change temps so quick.  I have 9 fans too, 5 intake, 4 exhaust

Lol, 9 fans

 

Those temps aren't right, me thinks.

Maybe first make sure your Kraken is working, and mounted correctly.
