How many people are you planning to use per one mic? If just one, I would recommend using a cardioid or super/hyper cardioid mic for better noise reduction.

From there, look at good low-noise microphones. Most all semi-professional mics nowadays are very good if you spend around $100. Name brand is usually safer.

So, I'm fairly good with computer hardware but audio is where my knowledge ends. I'm just starting out on Youtube and I am really looking for a desk mount boom mic setup. I have the headphones in mind that I want but I have no idea where to start with mics. My room is small so there isn't much echo and its carpeted. I'd like to spend less than $200 on one. If there is any other info you need let me know.

You get what you pay for.- Me
