SSD settings in windows 7/8

Go to solution Solved by guas5373,

Hey guys,

im planning on getting a SSD for my pc. it will be the samsung evo 250gb.

i got one ssd (samsung pro 830 250gb) in my laptop and back when i installed it, i were told to set a few specific settings to spare my ssd.

like deactivating defragmentation and deactivating system-restore-points.

so my question:

do i still have to do these settings on my own when i set up windows 7 or windows 8 on my new ssd?

and if i do, which settings do you recommend?

thanks :)
