GPu for a friend

I'm deciding which GPU to give to my friend. Either the 280x Sapphire Vapor-x 3gb, or GTX 970 SSC.

 

I have a feeling the 970 will win but does anyone know by how much? If it's close then i might just sell the 970.

280x is powerful as 770gtx maybe a bit above, so measure the 770 and 970gtx performance and u will end up getting the answer that u want

I'd say the GTX970.

For gaming purposes - the GTX 970 will spank the 280X for no other reason than it's pixel rate is THAT MUCH higher.  In every other regard the 280X would beat the 970 but it makes a huge difference.

basically same thing, give whichever you want it wont make that big of a difference.

I don't trust that site at all. According to them a 6700k is only better than fx 8310 by a tiny amount

I have a spare pc, I'm currently tempted just to move everything of my SSD, transfer drive, download windows and use firestrike or something.
