Depends... 1.25v should be a good start. Actually, you can probably live with even less than that, but this would be a nice point to begin with.

i was rendering a video on Sony Vegas Pro 13 and I was getting 79 degrees temperature on my CPU Intel i7 6700 K and I started getting worried about the cooler not cooling well. I have a Corsair h100i V2 and my temperatures are going up to 79 degrees. and I started wondering if I had to reapply the thermal paste. is it normal to have temperatures like that or is there an actual problem? I'm not really overclocking but I do have XMP enabled and it's going up to 4.4 gigahertz other than that everything looks normal de color seems like it's in place and the fans are working just fine if you guys know anything about this please let me know

My PC is a fast boyo:

6700K - 32GB - 1080 - 256GB EVO

^^You don't need more info than this right?^^

Shouldn't go that high. Make sure the pump is working and that the cooler is properly seated.

Mine is overclocked to 4.6GHz with NH-D15 and I barely go over 70 degrees Celsius.

Are your voltages on Auto? If so, that could be your problem right there.

What's your ambient temps?

If your starting out with a 30c or 35c ambient temp, you will get higher temps when compared to others.  If you are in a 20c room, well, you get the point.  The delta between ambient and core temp is what you should look at.

That's for RAM OCing and has nothing to do with core temps. Just leave it on and forget about it.
