PC not performing as it usually does!

Yesterday, I came back home and turned on my PC. To my surprise, it briefly turned on for a couple of seconds (fans started moving, LEDs started working), but would turn off. It would do this repeatedly. I checked inside and took out the CMOS battery for a few seconds and placed it back in. It started working again. However, when I tried to play Overwatch, I was getting 5 - 30 FPS. This struck me as odd. Unsure what was happening, I turned on Counter Strike: Global Offensive and to surely enough, I was getting around < 30 FPS. I have come to the conclusion, that something is broken in my PC or a setting was reset. How do I fix this?

i5 4590
GTX 960
1x 8GB DDR3
Seasonic 550W Bronze
Windows 10 64 Bit

Worst case scenario is either your PSU or CPU is dead but i dont really know. Check all connections are in place?

Is there anything I could do before diagnosing it as a hardware problem? My computer is only a year old, so it's really unideal for me to have to replace a part already.

reinstall gpu drivers.

So when I was reinstalling the GPU drivers, my computer just froze. I turned it off and back on, but now every time I log in, a few seconds later, it freezes again. What do I do?

Try removing the GPU and booting with the iGPU, see if that at least makes the PC stable.

Just removed the GPU. PC started working again. Is there any way of fixing my GPU or is it time to trash it?

you have a power delivery problem as suggested earlier, or a defective card. can you try the gpu in another rig and/or borrow another power supply to try?

I just logged in using another account. The PC started working again, mind you the GPU was installed again. However, I started playing games like Overwatch and CS GO and still experienced a high decrease in FPS. I was curious and logged back into my main account.  A few seconds later, the screen started glitching out and froze. What do I do?
