So in the crazy wind today I had my phone line come off my house and across the entrance to my backyard. The company is dragging its ass and wont be out to fix it for 3 days, I have dogs that need to go to the bathroom in that time. I was wondering if anyone has handled one of these things and would know if I could move it by hand? From what I read the worst thing that could happen would be a mild shock under the worst conditions but wanted some first hand accounts.

Okay wait edit 2: what kind of phone line are we talking about? How big is the wire?

The drop line, so the one that runs from the pole to the house. Its on my fence and I touched that before I saw it. And I know for a fact that a power line will put you on your ass if you do the same thing with it. So I'm feeling like I'm good to go.

Phone lines usually have about 100v on them, just use an insulating material to move the line. Nothing coming from the pole to your house should be high voltage.

Yeah used some decent gloves and the line still had its insulation intact so it was fine. Thanks!
