i want buy xeon cpu but i need usb type c on motherboard 

i want use asus x99 strix on my xeon cpu , my question is can usb type c working when i use xeon cpu on x99 ? 

because in asus web say ' *Intel Xeon Processor Family is designed for servers. Some features may not support when installed on X99 series chipsets. For more details, refer to ASUS support site at

that is a hard question, but if the usb-c is from an external controller (asmedia or something similar) then it should work just fine

It will work.

 

The "extra features" are advanced telemetry and compatibility with more complex management features when paired with an IPMI system in a server or workstation.

"extra features" can also mean lack of ECC support if not supported by the X99 board's microcode implementation. It's up to the mobo manufacturer to add it or not.

 

Here they're referring to CPU features, not MoBo features.
