Hi sir/madam

A friend of mine has a problem his new GPU uses 2x 6+2 pin connectors but he lost his 6+2 cables (accept the one he already used).

He is using the Rm-1000 (EU) PSU. I've got a simi-modulair vengeance PSU from corsair and i'm just using one of these connectors would he be able to use my cables or can he somewhere just buy only this connector because a whole set is almost as expensive as a new PSU.

Thanks for you time and efford to help me,

Techninja

Something like this? It plugs into a spare molex on your PSU

Both the Corsair RM and Vengeance uses Corsair's Type 3 pinout, so your friend should be able to use your 6+2 pin PEG cable in his RM1000.

If you want a validation from Corsair's PSU Product Manager (Jonny Gerow aka Jonnyguru): http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13740

If you want to buy a new cable, you can get it on Corsair's site: http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/type-3-sleeved-black-pci-e-pig-tail-cable

That's actually the wrong cable you are referring to. That Silverstone extends the length of the pre-existing cable.

The cable you thinking of is this (which I don't recommend using unless you really need to) : https://www.amazon.com/Electop-Express-Molex-Power-Adapter/dp/B01D0YXXHE/ref=pd_lpo_23_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=Z10XEMXAJ8BSE5P39GP3
