Probably not much help but I have two Micro USB Anker cables, ones 6ft and ones 10ft and its the best cables I've ever owned, they've been everywhere and no sign of any damage and still are working as good as the day I got them.

Intel i5 6600k @ 4.5GHz | NZXT Kraken X52 | Asus Maximus VIII Hero | Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 | 16GB DDR4 Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 3200MHz | CoolerMaster MasterCase 5

I own a set of these:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01I0VD8JA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As well as a single 6ft cable. They're excellent quality.

FYI, if your iPhone "blew up", it was probably whatever power brick/charger you were using, not the cable itself.

Your cable "blew up"? Could you elaborate?

If a cable melts (or catches fire, etc), then essentially too much current is going through the Cable. Most likely, the cable was either physically damaged (exposed wires) or the charger was forcing too much power through it.

I'm still very skeptical that it was the cables fault. Possible, yes, but more likely to be some other component failing.
