I have a strange and slightly specific build request...I'm looking to build a rig that is well rounded for gaming, but also for modeling and rendering in 3ds max, maya, and cryengine sandbox. I have a budget of $2000 though. Is there anyone that could give me a good idea on what to look into?

Not strange at all. This is one of the most common types of builds around here.

Do you need a copy of Windows? Any peripherals?

What kind of content are you working on?

What kind of dollars are you using?

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I'll be working on high poly models and textures I don't need any perifs a copy of widows would be a bonus but I can always use a cracked version and I'm using usd

I'll ask again--what kind of dollars are you using? USD? CAD? AUD? NZD? etc..

We don't endorse or talk about pirating copies and Windows and such in this forum. If you can obtain a copy of Windows and it doesn't need to be included in the budget, great. Just don't mention anything illegal or against the rules. I'd recommend editing your post.
