i need help

i have a problem. i have a gtx 650ti gfx card. i connect my gfx card to my subwoofer using hdmi. i connect my monitor via dvi as thats the only output it has. i have a dvi to hdmi adaptor but when i connect it to my subwoofer the only resolution it has is 640x480 help.

why would you connect a speaker to your graphics card?

my monitor hasnt got hdmi but the subwoofer is surround so i connected it via hdmi to get the audio
