Upgraded build not posting.

Heya, recently I upgraded my cpu which I also queried on here. I also changed case. I moved everything across from my case that I was using to the new one (still old cpu) at this point and it posted and worked fine. I put the new cpu and new h105 in and now the cpu fans and pump powers on, the gpu has power. But it wont post. One of the chassis fans arent working either and i'm unclued as to what has happened

The h105 water block lights on and the system runs for about 25 seconds then tries to restart.

Did you upgrade your cpu from one of the same generation?

I7-4770 changed to i7-4790 also the motherboard im using is an asrock z87 pro4

Have you tried unplugging all the cables and hardware and redoing the build process?

 

Fans may spin but its still possible to have missed a connection?

 

Or possibly clear cmos (though I don't think you should have to)

 

Although what is odd is that you had everything working prior meaning you only touched the cpu after everything was in the case so if nothing else works put the old one back in and see (it also could be possible to have a dead cpu??) but I'm not too sure.

I think I may have found the problem, some of the z87 boards arent compatible with the 4790. I'll try swapping the cpus around and see what happens.

Clear CMOS, did you update your BIOS?

Alright, changing the cpu's back has worked, and multiple sources say that the motherboard I'm using isn't compatible with a 4790.

This says 4790k is compatible after BIOS 2.0

Boot into BIOS and see what version you are running
