So, when i first built my pc, there were no problems for about 5 months until randomly the cpu usage launched up to +88% cpu usage which destroyed everything making it slow.  day to day tasks for me usually uses around 30-40% gaming around 60%.

I have no clue why it did that, i checked what was using so much of the cpu and nothing to avail. when i added a new hdd my other one crashed so i had to format, so its basically fresh. Now just today my cpu spiked up to 80% and the only programs i had open were cam, discord and steam. looking on cam the usage was at 20% then i launched cs go and it went to 80%. i checked to see what was making it so high but csgo was only using 1.8% of it. a restart fixed the problem, but i want to know why this happened.

specs:

i5 6500

750ti sc

16gb of ram

might be windows indexing service. you could turn that off to identify if that is the culprit. Do you have an SSD? the OP mentioned some HDD issues so what is currently plugged into the system? Im thinking indexing service is messing with that crashed drive

the hdd was fixed by a simple format on both drives. seems like there were contradicting files on them. no ssd just 2 hdd 1tb and a 500gb
