So about a month ago, I decided to up my speaker system. I had the Logitech z506, but I use my speakers mostly for music (for gaming I have a headset). After searching for a while on what options I had (according to international reviewers), I then looked at my budget and what was available in my country, and decided to purchase the Edifier Luna eclipse e35 speakers in red.

First impression: Sexy AF. Good looking speakers. Shape is quite unique (at least for me), and the finish on them is amazing. Great packaging, and the cloth sleevings to protect them while shipping is a HUGE plus.

Inside the box we find all the essentials: The two speakers (duh), a remote controller, 3.5 mm aux cable to connect to your device, and a proprietary cable that connects the left speaker to the right one. It also includes a microfiber cloth, and the user manual.

Setting up the speakers: Pretty straight forward. If you've ever setup two speakers before. Other than that, no drivers or anything. Just plug and play.

Audio quality: Great bass, the tweeters provide good highs, but the mids are kinda-sorta-pretty much- not really there. The speakers sound range is a "V" style. High bass, high well... Highs, and the mids are lower.

Controller: 3 buttons; On/Off, Volume up, Volume down. With that order. Minimal design, feels kinda flimsy but it's good. It does it's job.

Other features: Bluetooth, and touch sensitive buttons on the right speaker that do the same exact job as the remote controller. Bluetooth is a great feature that I missed not having on the Z506's, and the power LED changes from red to blue to let you know you're going wireless. However, the audio quality has a albeit slight, a noticeable drop in audio quality (makes sense).

As for the touch sensitive buttons on the right speaker, I avoid them like the plague. The speakers are fingerprint super electromagnets. Hence, the microfiber cloth that they give you. I keep the controller next to my keyboard, have the audio on the speakers just above the middle, and control the volume via my keyboard (has audio roller thingy).

Nit picky things I don't like/would have done differently: Huge temptation to touch the speakers while music is playing, and you can visibly see the oscillation occurring (don't touch the tweeter, don't touch the tweeter, don't touch the tweeter...). If you have music playing from your PC, and you open the Bluetooth on your cell and connect to the speakers, they prioritize Bluetooth over the 3.5 mm aux cable. Would have added a fourth button on the controller for Bluetooth/aux.

Final thoughts: Compact and affordable, they have a great price to quality ratio, and they are a solid purchase in my book. Other than the minor complaints I have about them, they are great. For there size, quite loud. Clean looks (no huge logos on the front, matte finish up front, glossy color on the rest), and with a few colors to choose, they will accent your build perfectly.

First pic was taken by my Asus Zenfone zoom, the second showing a closeup of the right speaker was taken from my webcam.

I haven't and won't include an audio comparison between the Logitech Z506 and the Edifier's because I don't have a proper microphone to sample them.
