My First Server

hey guys,

im thinking of purchasing a HP DL380 G5 (for about 70 euro) with these specs:

Rackmount Server

2x Intel Xeon E5345 Quadcore CPU

8x 2 GB Ram

2 x hot swap Netzteil

Raidcontroller inkl Backup Battery newly changed

ILO

my questions: i will probably neet a switch, can i use any cheap 5 port one and plug one LANcable into the server, 1 into the switch, 1 into my modem and another into my pc? will i then be able to transfer files?

 

can i code well on this server or run 1 or 2 arma 3 severs? how much will it cost running it 24/7?

if theres anything else4 i need to know, please do tell me.
