One question does the strike mean don't buy these and what about HD 451 (based on what I have read 451=461-mic)

I would buy either the ATH M40x (those are what I use) or save and buy the HE450 (just if you dont mind to have a somewhat "low" bass. Dont get me wrong, they are a really good pair of headphones (extremely confortable, more than the M40x with no dubt) and they sound very good, but I miss a little bit the bass that the M40x have).

 

Edit: remember, this is just my opinion.

 

Edit 2: as a suggestion, I would be more specific writting the title of the post, since lots of people usually checks the "Recent topics" column. I know that the sub forum where you post It is shown below the title, but that way you have more visibility.

Strike means dont bother.

 

And i own those HE-350. They are very bright but you can do an easy mod to increase the bass noticeably but not enough to make it a bassy headphone. I got disappointed in them quickly when i acquired a pair of Fidelio X2's as i noticed that some songs were both a female and male singer would sing you would only hear the male singer. Can't wholeheartedly recommend them. (i do understand the Fidelio's are more expensive but cmon).

 

They are on the Audio Boards recommended gear list together with the HD558 and M40x. If you plan on gaming with the headphones i would remove the m40x since they are closed and wont offer as big soundstage as the other 2.
