Router need help im lost !!

Hello,

 

I'm going straight to the point:

 

Been using a old router (Apple Airport Extreme 2010) since well 2010 ! 

 

I have:

Macbook pro AC capable 

Custom Tower AC capable

Home NAS running Freenas

 

Internet speed 150mbps everything connected with wifi but the NAS 

 

Gaming file sharing from nas to network !

 

i see AC router ranging for 80 to 600$ what's the deal ??

 

I remember the time when WRT router would cost 80$ 100$ and after a dd-wrt install would do an insane job

Range : im living in a 700 sqft appartment 

Band : I know we have 2.5 and 5 ghz thats all i know about bands
