System write traffic (pid4)

when i open resource monitor (cortona>resource monitor>disk tab) system always does write cycles

with all applications closed my system write cycles are around from 15k bytes to 50k bytes per second

is this normal??? can someone share his/hers write cycles with nothing running in the backround??

btw the system is always writing to pid4??? anyone know what that is?
