The soft click is coming from the little speaker you install into the motherboard and the power supply is on. Everything is plugging in correctly

it sounds to me that the board is not getting the voltage it's expecting, at least at the amperages it needs it at.

 

If you have access to a multi meter, load test the PSU to see if it's outputting the correct voltages.

I'll check that.. I just need to find it, I know I have one I just can't recall where I last left it
