Connecting to Windows server from MAC problem

Hi,

So i got a problem connecting to the windows server at our work from my macbook.

Clicking finder -> connect to server -> selecting folders -> everything works.

If i close the window it doesn't show up anymore in finder and if i try to to re do steps again the folder that i wanted to access appears greyed out and i can't click it anymore.

Any advice?

 

I would also prefer to see the server in my finder under remote devices.

Hahahaha... Sorry, it's just that windows/mac compatibility is terrible.

Anyway, since Apple locks everything down, there's isn't a huge amount one can do you fix it. You can try entering the address manually on the 'connect to server' window by entering "smb://DNS-IP/sharename" replacing DNS-IP with the DNS or IP of the server and sharename with the directory of the folder you want.

afaik there is no integration possible outside of major overhauls by modders.
