4c/4t or 4c/8t

I play:

Rocket League

Overwatch

Minecraft

Subnautica

Civ 5

Civ 6

 

I know that Minecraft and Overwatch can take advantage of more than 4 cores.  Not sure about the others.

 

Anyway, if I want to play these games, as well as record, edit, and render videos (maybe), should I get a 4c/4t CPU (Ryzen 3) or a 4c/8t CPU (Ryzen 5)?

4 cores 8 threads. Even if the games do not benefit from 8 threads, editing and rendering will.

8 threads are always better, i mean 4 threads will work but it won't be the best

I'd mainly just be playing games, but being able to do things in the background while a game is running would be beneficial to me.   Thanks!
