Hello everyone, long time since my last post. So i will start saving on summer for some upgrades for my main PC and i was wondering which part will be better to change.

At the moment this is my setup https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Thrasher1031/saved/zx8hP6

For budget i only have like $300 - $400 ish usd for my desktop upgrades because i will also get some parts for a laptop i need to repair including a SSD.

So here i my options:

1. Upgrade CPU to a better one, get a cheap 900p/1080p monitor and stay with current gpu.

2. Upgrade GPU (RX 480) and get a 1080p monitor.

3. Upgrade only peripherals. Better monitor, mouse and keyboard.

My main uses for the desktop PC are school work/projects of programming and gaming. Any ideas?

I prefer to start upgrading my setup over the time, also i would like to upgrade to DDR4 but the prices are a little too high, well i was looking for a 6600K so that's why.

Currently i have a 1024x768 monitor, a membrane keyboard and a HP mouse.

Nope. A 6700 with a B150 motherboard is a much better choice!

Motherboard: Asus H110M-A/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($57.99 @ SuperBiiz)

And i would get a cheap 900p/1080p if i go this route. I find more easy to upgrade the gpu over time that the cpu.

How about the i5 6600?

Well at the moment i don't do anything too intensive in terms of performance so i will stick with the i5 6500. If i want to upgrade i will have already DDR4 for either a Ryzen or Kaby Lake cpu. And also i have some budget left for a better monitor :)
