Cost Cutting Advice

Hey guys,

 

I'm planning a gaming/streaming build and need advice on areas to skimp and preserve performance.

I can't skimp on storage; I looked at my current rig and I need the three terabytes games and other data.

 

Components:

Intel Core i7 6700K
Asus Z170-A
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x 8GB)

Asus Geforce GTX 1080 8GB ROG Strix
Samsung 850 EVO 1TB (3x)
Asus Black SATA 24x DVDRW
Corsair RMx 850W
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
Cooler Master Master Case Maker 5t
Windows 10 Home

Get a single 512 ssd, and then get a 4tb hdd. You don't need that much ssd space.

 

Id probably get a 7700k.

 

You can get a smaller psu like a 500w

Will the 7700K be compatible with the Z170-A?

should work fine, but id get a z270 board as well. No reason to get last gen.
