Hello there, this is actually my first post here but nobody cares. I'm here today to ask for advice and confirm the list of PC-components I plan to buy. I already did a huge amount of research on the parts beforehand and also checked for the best possible prices in my area. I personally think that there isn't much else to do but I want your opinion on it either way. Keep in mind, I use € as currency and my location is Austria. The current costs of the planned build are roughly 1080 €. I don't want to go beyond 1100 € unless it is really needed. The main use for this build will be gaming, obviously. I also might pick up little video editing projects but that is still in speculation. My current monitor is 1080p 60hz but I might upgrade to either a higher refresh rate or a 1440p monitor.

Here is the pcp list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/KYXbGf

Quick thoughts on each part:

CPU:

The 7600 has the best value for me as it is basically the same price as 6th generation CPUs but with a slight increase in performance.

Motherboard:

It has everything I need, really.

Ram:

Should be fine as it is.

SSD:

I chose a 120GB SSD because I will mainly use it as a boot-drive with nothing else on it.

HDD:

1TB is plenty for me because I already have 2TB of external storage to store random stuff on.

Video Card:

It took me a while to decide between a 1060 and a 1070 but a friend convinced me to go with a 1070. I think it's a nice choice.

Case:

I tried to find the cheapest case that has everything I need. I do not desire anything fancy-looking or bulky so the N200 seems like the best choice for me.

Power Supply:

I'm actually still not sure about it. I'd need lots of recommendations for this one.

Wireless Adapter:

Seems like a nice choice.

Fans:

Cheap and seem like they get stuff done.

I don't recall Raidmax being known for PS quality.

Seems like a pretty balanced build.  Personally I'd splurge more for a K series so then you'll get better resale down the road, but then you'd need a more expensive mobo.

8GB of ram is really considered bare minimum nowadays.  I'd go for 16GB 2133 over 8GB 2400, if it came down to price.

Workstation:  9800X3D|| Asus X670E ProArt Creator || MSI Gaming Trio 4090 Shunt || T.Force 7800CL34 || Corsair AX1600i@240V || whole-house loop.

LANRig/GuestGamingBox: 13700K @ Stock || MSI Z690 DDR4 || ASUS TUF 3090 650W shunt || Corsair SF600 || CPU+GPU watercooled 280 rad pull only || whole-house loop.

Server Router (Untangle): 13600k @ P-Core only || ASRock Z690 ITX || All 10Gbe || 2x8GB 3200 || PicoPSU 150W 24pin + AX1200i on CPU|| whole-house loop

Server Compute/Storage: 10850K @ 5.1Ghz || Gigabyte Z490 Ultra || EVGA FTW3 3090 1000W || LSI 9280i-24 port || 4TB Samsung 860 Evo, 5x10TB Seagate Enterprise Raid 6, 4x8TB Seagate Archive Backup ||  whole-house loop.

Laptop: HP Elitebook 840 G8 (Intel 1185G7) + 4070 RTX Thunderbolt Dock, Razer Blade Stealth 13" 2017 (Intel 8550U)

I see. I might go for EVGA then.

I considered a K series but as you said, I'd have more cost overall. It's not worth it for me to be honest.

Well, most sources told me that 8GB is fine for gaming but I'm a little skeptical myself. I guess I'll see how far I get with 8GB and upgrade if I really need to.

The question here is. Do you want to overclock your CPU at all?

I personally would also go for a K variant but only if I have the budget. If I know the computer will never be overclocked why "waste" budget for a letter

I would still invest in a 250 gb SSD since 120 GB fill up quite quick from my experience

I have a 240 and it filled up pretty fast :(

What might be the benefit of this? I didn't look anything up about that yet.

It's supposed to be better and cheaper

Here's some changes:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/WtNPhq

RAM: 8GB probably won't be enough

SSD: 120GB probably won't be enough. In addition, you have an M.2 slot, so it makes sense to use it.

HDD: Removed because you stated you already have 2TB of storage. However, if this is one drive, I suggest getting at least one extra drive to mirror it.

PSU: Raidmax does not make good PSUs. There's a list here you should read:

Do not buy anything below Tier 3.

Keep in mind this build I linked is a little over budget, so you may have to sacrifice something or wait for Ryzen.

What I meant by external storage is a portable hard drive. I still require an internal hard drive.

I figured that Raidmax isn't a reputable company in this department. Especially after I read some reviews.

I plan on waiting some more in case the prices drop or a random sale appears.
