Qestions regarding headset splitters

I am about to purchase the Sennheiser GSX 1000 amp. I will be using it with my speakers and headset the Cloud 2 from HyperX. While the amp has enough outputs to connect everything the headset only has 1 jack which you use with the USB soundcard dongle and that splits up the audio and mic input. I want to know if I purchase just a Y splitter to separate the audio and mic would i be noticing any sound degradation or would I have any trouble while doing so? I am assuming that it should work no problem but I rather have some reassurance before i buy,

While I won't condone the use of a hyperX headset, you won't have issues when using a splitter. It should work fine and won't cause any degredation unless it's damaged or poorly made.
