My laptop started acting weird these days.

The screen is freezing then starting to work again, freezing and starting to work again.

It happens between a 3-5 min span even with just like one software (Chrome) opened and the freeze lasts about like a minimum of 2 minutes.

I'd say it has to do with my graphics card but I doubt its a physical damage.

I'm thinking about resetting my laptop or buying a new graphics card for my laptop.

I've tried restarting my computer several times but that didn't work out either.

I heard that there is an software to check if your GPU is working fine but I'm not sure how to use it or what it is called.

So what you're using is a laptop which does not have a dedicated GPU, as I expected. You're running your display solely off your processor. From what I understand, if the processor is to "busy" doing other processes, it might not be able to display stuff. This is very common with chrome when a LOT of extensions are added (especially poorly optimized ones) given they can use a very large chunk of your CPU.

According to Task Manager, my CPU is running at the clock speed of 0.90 ghZ and only 50% of my ram is being used with around 8 Google Chrome tasks running. Will disabling some extensions in Chrome help?

I would try that, see if it helps, if not. I would like you to get a bit more specific with your computer specs :P
