ECC Compatibility

So basically, I bought a Z170 PC Mate and a very unlabeled stick of (16gb?) DDR4, which I've figured out to be ECC Crucial trasho (But it was all still cheap asf)

Anyway, I bought a 6600k and I need to know if the RAM will be compatible with everything.

It will work as long as it's unbuffered, you just won't be able to benefit from the ECC part of it.

No, it will not work. You'll need to swap out for non-ECC RAM. 

 

EDIT: Actually, it's UDIMM so it will work, just not the ECC part.

It should work as long as the Mobo supports it, you may have to dwnload a firmware update though
