Insight on a Linux project

Hey there

 

For anyone who has played FTL, you know the addiction.

FTL now runs on Linux, and i had an idea.

 

Is it possible to install a Linux OS on a Android phone (specifocally a Samsung Express Prime 3) in order to run steam games that run on Linux

 

Also is the phone powerful enough to run FTL.

 

Also if it screws up, will i be able to re-install Android?

Not with out a emulator. Its x86_64 code, most phones are arm or arm64. If it was opensource you could compile it for arm, but thats very unlikey.

IDK if its opensource, but its DRM free .

But if it could be conpiled, or i used an emulator, would it be possible?

The game does have an official Linux version

You aren't getting anywheres without using an emulator which will probably run like crap or the source code which isn't released.

unless its open source its will preform like crap.

 

the emulator might work, but your converting  x86 to arm real time and its gonna be very slow esp on a slow phone.

other than porting a closed source game, (good luck) you can run it on your Linux box, and remote desktop from your phone. but it will have inherent lag, due to network traffic and bandwidth restrictions.
