98% memory usage on desktop?

i have a 97% memory usage on the desktop at idle , i have 16Gb of ram and i have only chrome open. i tried stopping system services and i still have no idea whats hapening. Any help appreciated. as you can see in the picture 15.4 GB is being used? i have no idea how this is possible.

sounds like memory leak. A restart might resolve it

It's probably a memory leak. A simple REGEDIT will fix it.

seems that way , ive restarted and its gone down to 18% , thanks. I did try it before and it didnt work though thats why i came on here.

A restart will temporary fix it (until you start opening programs again) doing the regedit fix is a more permanent solution. If the problem persists I would recommend doing it.

now do i have to do all 5 of the things it says to or just the regedit part?

ive done this regedit and it didnt help at all
