3770k still kicks ass, wait for Ryzen.

Ryzen is not set out to beating 7700k performance wise as far as I know, but price per performance while still being somewhat high end. Altough even If you end up getting 7700k it's price is likely to drop once Ryzen's out, so waiting might still turn out beneficial.

Would i get a boost in games by upgrading. I do make videos as well so i will probably cut down render time.

Do you need a boost in gaming? I don't know what's you GPU but even if it's 1080 I don't think that CPU is bottlenecking it. Do you experience fps drops?

Also remember that if you're upgrading from gen 3 you will need new ram and mobo for both 7700 and ryzen.

You can still roll with 3xxx cpus fine; It's unlikely a 5Ghz i7 is slowing you down (though maybe if you have a dog of a gpu, a low res monitor and play mostly Total War etc.). If your rendering times are the problem I might go with one of the 8C16T Ryzen cpus that'll come out end of Q1; Willing to guess they'll have better value grunt than a 6800k

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

Okay. I think I'll stick with my system for now then. Thanks for all info really appreciate it

If you find my comments useful drop a Thumbs Up please :D

One more thign I should probably add is if you start capturing your videos in higher resolution too then I suppose rendering will take longer.
