Only game audio low, everything else normal.

Hello!

 

Been struggling with an audio issue for some time now. For some reason ALL of my games are much, much quieter than everything else on my computer. Chrome and Firefox are loud, as is system sounds etc, but whenever I start a game I have to turn my browser down to around 25 percent just to hear my game. Unchecked the 'make audio quieter for conversations'. 

 

I have checked mixer settings, uninstalled GeForce Experience (thought it might be shadow play), re-installed audio drivers (realtek), and re-installed video drivers. No dice. 

 

Any ideas?

If you turn your "browser" down to 25% while gaming, instead try turning Youtube volume down to 25% not the whole browser.

 

Are you using headphones or speakers?

Either one. Speakers (like a shelftop audio system) and headphones. I can turn down youtube but I am having to turn up my headphones (turtle beaches) up loud enough to hear the hiss from the inline USB. 

I just noticed that it doesn't happen with Overwatch, but does with Rainbow Six and Dishonored 2. Rainbow six is being launched from Uplay and Dishonored from steam. Both have volume settings maxed in game. 

When I check the mixer, the quiet games barely go above 25% on the bar, where as Overwatch will go the whole way (near the top).
