I'm thinking about building a computer for my family.I need some help coming up with a build that will suit there needs. It will Mainly be use for web browsing and other lighter tasks. It will not need a GPU and  one terabyte of storage is all my dad is looking for. I like to not give my family any thing sketchy like a no name power supply from a dodgy manufacture. Budget is about $500 (USA) a Windows license and peripherals do not need to be factored into this costed but every thing else does . Also if there any good pre-build systems out there I'm not against looking into that.

i kinda prefer to recommend against putting in SSD and HDD combo's in cases like these because you end up with a pretty potato SSD, a pretty potato HDD, and having to explain your old folks what files they have to put where.

The hard drive and ssd aren't actually that bad, plus with 500gb of ssd,  you can basically just say put pics and videos here, put everything else here without much concern.

No pricing on the psu, and OP does not need the graphics card.

I know he doesn't but I was within the budget. Didn't notice that about the gpu though

when the psu doesn't have a price? add any basic psu that doesn't blow up and your build will be over budget.
