Jerry Rigging a Razer Core

I've seen it done before, but I've only seen one true DIY version.  I wanna know if it can be done without having to purchase something like the Akito Thunder (https://www.amazon.com/Thunder3-Pcie-Expansion-Box-Currently/dp/B01K5Z13I2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485886399&sr=8-1&keywords=akito+node) and I thought no better place to ask than here. I have seen a really sketchy looking one where a guy chopped up an old PC case to do it, but I really wanna see if there's a way to make one that will look better than that.

D you want to use thunderbolt 3 or pcie to send data to the laptop

How do you plan on interfacing the thunderbolt connection with the PCIe connection of the GPU without one of the premade solutions? Do you know how to make circuit boards?

I would be thinking the thunderbolt sends data to the laptop

Yeah no. That's interfacing mxm to pcie. Not thunderbolt. Unless you know how to solder yourself and compile your own drivers it's not going to happen.
