Diff ram speed on mobo

i'm planning o upgrade my core2quad to an ivy bridge processor and i want to buy myself a new mobo and use my ram sticks until i get more money to upgrade them too. my only problem is that my ram only goes 1066 on each dim (i got 2gb x 4) and i was wondering if it would work on mobos that say only run until 1333. will it work fine?
