Hello there!

I'm wondering if it will be safe if I leave the screw out of a small GPU as I don't have one and is it ok if I leave out the PCI-e cover thing because I don't have a screw for that either.

I attached images below, thanks!

Its better to attach them, but for a card that small you'd be fine. Check at a local hardware store to find a screw soon though. Be careful when plugging cables in. If you were able to put on the entire cover for the slots the screw from the GPU wouldn't be too much of an issue, but how it is any movement has the potential to pull the card out of the slot.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

Could I potentially just use tape as a temporary solution?

Ye it's fine :)

Just be careful with your PC...

How many screws is holding that MSI GPU? If it's 2 then remove one of em no? :D

On a side note, that's a junk PSU...

Not if it's a card with a 16x PCIe connector connected to a 16x slot...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Pulling up on the I/O side of the card will pull it slightly out of the slot.

This card won't be used for I/O, I'm just using it so I can encode in OBS

Can your CPU/main GPU not do it? :P
